acupuncture

The basis of Acupuncture is the theory that the body has an energy force running throughout it known as Qi (pronounced chee). Qi travels throughout the body similarly to nerves and blood vessels but along special pathways referred to as “meridians”. These pathways can become obstructed, creating an irregular energy flow in the body, causing illness. By inserting fine needles into the skin, at specific points along these meridians, balance of the patient's energy is restored, thereby improving health by increasing the body’s ability to heal itself.

chinese medicine

Chinese Medicine is a 3,500 year old system of medicine that can be used to address a variety of ailments from chronic conditions to minor imbalances. It is the result of a continuous process of critical thinking, clinical observation and testing. It is based on the belief that the human body is in a dynamic state of balance both internally and with the outside world. If this equilibrium is disturbed then we can become sick.

shiatsu

Shiatsu utilizes a combination of pressure and assisted-stretching techniques to enhance the flow of energy/Qi (pronounced chee) in the body to relieve a variety of problems including back pain, neck and shoulder problems, stress, insomnia, digestive problems, and fatigue.

chinese herbs

Chinese Herbs differ from western herbs in that they are almost always prescribed as a formula containing 5–12 herbs. Combining different types of herbs in different quantities helps us to craft a formula to address your specific symptom pattern. Our herbal formulas are prepared according to strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and subject to high levels of quality control.
